Monochromia 2007

“Torens die zich een weg door de aarde hebben geboord en een plekje hebben veroverd in het landschap. Gebouwen die een grottenstelsel vormen. Gebouwen die bloeien als een bloem. Bruggen die zich om hebben gerold in hun winterslaap en plotseling boven de grond staken. Dit is Monochromia”

Monochromia is een studie naar vorm, kleur, structuur en materiaal. Als iets één wordt, dat wil zeggen, als vorm + kleur + structuur + materiaal samensmelten, wat is ervaring van ruimte? Monochromia is een ruimte waar de relatie tussen dingen is gedefinieerd door dingen bij elkaar te zetten. Een ruimte waar objecten zichzelf her definiëren en elkaar tolereren. Een heldere onbewolkte lucht.

"Towers emerging from the center of the earth, conquering their place within the landscape. Cave structures made up of buildings, blooming like flowers. Bridges rising above the ground, after turning around in their hybernation sleep. This is Monochromia."

Monochromia is a scenario case study about form, colour, structure and material. If everything becomes one, meaning, if form + structure + colour + material merge together, what is the experience of space? Monochromia is a space where the relationship of things is defined by putting things together. A space where objects redefine themselves and tolerate each other. A clear unclouded sky.
